For those of you who have tried to access my website or telephone me, my sincere apologies. We returned home on Sunday night from a quilt show to find we had no phone service – therefore no computer service. The phones were repaired earlier this afternoon. How good it is to be reconnected to the outside world. I didn’t realize how often I checked my email until there was no email to check.

Am preparing for Paducah quilt show. Once home from that will be updating you on our travels – the quilt show in Lancaster, Cincinnati and Paducah.

Spring is almost here which means we are traveling to several quilt shows. The last of February we were at the Mid-Atlantic show in Hampton, VA. The crowds were good this year and, as usual, the Mancusoes, the promoters, had some spectacular quilts on display. If you have not attended this show, you should put it on your wish list. You can visit their site at www.quiltfest.com for information about all the shows they do around the country.

I have a new hero – my husband. I got sick going to Hampton and went to bed immediately after checking into the hotel. Somehow I dragged myself out of bed the next morning to help set up the booth and then had two classes to teach also. Somehow I found the strength to get through those, but spent no time in the booth during the show. My husband stepped up, took over the reins and managed the booth beautifully. When we got home I went to the doctor and found I had a severe upper respiratory infection. She put me on an antibiotic and am just feeling better within the last couple of days. Hope that doesn’t happen again!!!!! I did lose eight pounds during the trip to Hampton, but that’s an unfortunate way to drop some weight. Feeling well and perky at shows is just something we assume will happen.

We were home two days from Hampton and went to Lebanon, OH, to vend at a quilt show there. It is a small show, but the selection of vendors is terrific. It benefits the Warren County Historical Society and is held at their museum – a beautiful museum. Lebanon is a charming town, the old buildings are well maintained, there are lovely old homes there, lots of antique shops and other unique shopping experiences besides the quilt show. It is also the home of the Golden Lamb, the oldest continuously operating hotel west of the Allegheny Mountains. It has a wonderful restaurant. Many presidents have stayed at the hotel and so can you.

Am working hard preparing for the other three spring shows we have and will tell you about those as they happen.

Good Morning. A few weeks ago I received a telephone call I had been hoping to receive for a long time. The promoters of the Road to California show called and asked me if I would like to be a vendor at the 2011 show. Well, of course, I said yes!!!!! I only had two weeks to get product together, pack and ship to California, but I did it.

I left Louisville on a cold, winter day and five hours later my plane landed in Ontario, CA, and it was summer. The temperature was 83 degrees and the sun was shining. You could almost hear the angels singing as I walked out of the airport.

For those of you who live near this southern California city and have not attended this show, let me urge you to put it on your schedule. It is a very well organized show, with a variety of vendors and beautiful quilts on display. I am already looking forward to another slice of summer next January.

As I mentioned in my last Blog, we will be updating the storefront of the website in the coming days and weeks – adding lots of new products. Four of the new Blocks of the Month that will be on the website are Settler’s Pride, Baltimore Christmas, Pennies From Heaven and Southern Gatherings. If you would like any information about these BOM’s before they are posted on the website send me an email at kaye@kayemoore.com with your contact info and I’ll get in touch with you to answer your questions.

Hope you have a warm, cozy day of stitching.
